Purpose and Government Independence

The site organizes information about Honolulu County and Hawaiʻi custody, release, facility, court, and supervision resources. It stores no official records and cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or file a request for a visitor. Links to outside research services do not make those services government sources.

Acceptable Use Rules

You agree to use the site responsibly and lawfully.

• Do not violate any law through the site.
• Do not stalk, harass, threaten, or harm another person.
• Do not make employment, housing, lending, or insurance decisions from site content.
• Do not seek unauthorized access to systems or accounts.
• Do not deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools.
• Do not interfere with access or service for other visitors.

No Consumer Reports or Screening

Honolulu County Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It supplies no background check, credit report, or consumer report. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides screening services. You agree not to use any content for:

• Hiring, termination, or other employment decisions
• Tenant or housing screening
• Creditworthiness or insurance pricing
• License, permit, or government-benefit eligibility
• Any other decision regulated by the FCRA

Third-Party Websites

Links may lead to DCR, HPD, courts, release resources, legal aid, federal locators, or outside search services. We do not endorse or control a destination’s content, data handling, pricing, terms, or uptime. Review its rules before submitting information or paying for a service.

Service Provided As Is

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent allowed by law, we make no warranty that information is complete, accurate, current, continuously available, free of errors or security flaws, or that a partner search will be thorough.

Custody status and public records can change at any time. Nothing here is an official statement from DCR, HPD, a court, a sheriff, or another government agency.

Limits of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site, its owners, and contributors are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from access, inability to access, reliance on content, or use of a linked service.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the site, its owners, and contributors harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the site or violation of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Text, graphics, logos, design elements, and code belong to Honolulu County Released Inmates or its content partners unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, modify, republish, distribute, or exploit those materials without written permission.

Revisions to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. Changes take effect when the updated terms are posted on this page. Continued use after posting means you accept the revised version.

Suspension or Loss of Access

We may restrict, suspend, or end access to all or part of the site at any time, for any lawful reason, and without advance notice.

Hawaiʻi Law Controls

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction in Hawaiʻi.

Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be limited or adjusted only as much as necessary to make it enforceable.
