Honolulu HI SAVIN Coverage

Hawaiʻi SAVIN uses VINE/VINELink to provide custody and parole status for people under DCR jurisdiction. That includes OCCC and Hawaiʻi state prisons. WCCC also has an Oʻahu jail role for women, so an OCCC-only assumption can miss the correct facility.

The service can provide a current status clue and notification options. It is not a certified release document, daily release list, complete historical archive, or source for every HPD cellblock event. It should not be assumed to cover BOP, ICE, USMS, or every transfer outside Hawaiʻi.

Search Honolulu VINELink Records

Use enough identity detail to avoid a false match. Do not capture or share more personal information than the verification requires.

1. Open the Hawaiʻi VINELink search.
2. Choose the person or offender search and enter the name plus any available filters.
3. Compare identity details when multiple results appear. Open only the matching record.
4. Record the exact status, agency or facility, and update date shown.
5. If no match appears, retry spelling and name variants, then use DCR, court, or records-request channels.

A missing result may reflect transfer, data timing, spelling, an older record, or coverage limits. It does not prove release.

Honolulu VINELink Release Fields

The live interface controls the labels. Preserve its exact wording when recording a result, since DCR documentation does not promise that every person will have the same fields.

The DCR functional statement confirms an internal tentative release date, but no official source promises that HI SAVIN displays it for every person. Do not turn an absent date into a prediction.

The screen directs users toward alerts, while the agency record remains the source for exact release details.

Register Honolulu Release Alerts

The current DCR brochure supports phone, text, email, and in-app notice methods and recommends using more than one. Registration can follow selection of the correct person.

1. Choose notifications from the matched person record.
2. Select the available phone, text, email, or app methods.
3. Enter and verify the requested contact details.
4. For telephone alerts, create a four-digit PIN.
5. Enter the PIN when VINE calls to confirm receipt.

If a call goes unanswered, VINE may leave a message and continue calling for at least twenty-four hours or until the PIN is entered. Update changed contact details online or through 1-877-846-3444. The brochure describes live assistance at all times. TTY service is available at 1-866-847-1298.

Confirm Honolulu VINELink Alerts

A release alert is a custody-status notice, not proof that every hold ended. DCR may release a person to ICE, USMS, or another agency. That event is a transfer of custodian, not necessarily release to the community.

Use the BOP Inmate Locator for sentenced federal custody and ICE ODLS for covered immigration custody. A past BOP release date does not rule out later state or immigration detention. The broader Honolulu released-inmate search separates these agency paths.

Read Honolulu SAVIN Status

Copy the displayed status exactly. “Released,” “out of custody,” a facility name, and a parole label can have different meanings in the live interface. Note the participant agency and update time. Do not paraphrase a label into a stronger claim than the screen supports.

DCR operates a unified system. The same person may move from OCCC pretrial custody to a state prison, from prison to Laumaka, or from prison to parole. A location change inside DCR is not necessarily community release. WCCC also houses both pretrial and sentenced women, which makes facility context important.

When the result says released, obtain the disposition and destination. Bail, dismissal, time served, probation, parole, sentence expiration, and transfer to another authority have different effects. A DCR entry can document release from one facility while a detainer sends the person directly to another custodian.

No Honolulu VINELink Result

A no-result screen has several possible causes. The name may be spelled differently, the person may have aliases, the record may be old, or a recent admission or transfer may not yet be visible. HPD cellblock custody may never become a DCR record if the person is released before OCCC intake.

1. Try full, partial, and alternate name forms supported by the interface.
2. Confirm the date of birth or state identifier from an official source.
3. Check eCourt Kōkua for the case and most recent custody-related event.
4. Call the VINE service at 1-877-846-3444 for search help.
5. Request the DCR or HPD record when the custody episode remains unresolved.

Do not search the covered-offender registry as a substitute. That registry includes only people legally required to register under HRS chapter 846E. Presence does not establish parole status, and absence says nothing about custody.

Pair Honolulu SAVIN With Court

eCourt Kōkua can explain why custody changed. Party Search accepts first and last name and offers optional middle-name, phonetic, partial-name, filing-date, and case-type tools. Once the correct case is found, review bail, events, docket entries, offenses, judgment, and disposition.

Judiciary status labels describe the case, not physical custody. ACTIVE means the case continues. INACTIVE can mean the court awaits an event, including action after a bench warrant. CLOSEDJ can follow dismissal or judgment while obligations remain. CLOSEDS indicates that the judgment has been satisfied. None should be substituted for a VINELink custody status.

Older District Court criminal cases may not be online, and confidential, juvenile, or sealed cases are excluded. A missing document icon does not prove that the clerk lacks the document. Use the First Circuit Legal Documents Branch for a public counter copy when needed.

Request Honolulu Release Proof

HRS §353-12 requires DCR to keep records of admission, parole, and discharge. DCR release procedure also calls for an immediate Offendertrak update and identifies a release-status form in the workflow. These facts support a focused request even when VINELink no longer displays the desired history.

Ask for the releasable admission and movement fields, actual release date and time, releasing facility, disposition code and its definition, and destination or receiving authority. If the person was paroled, request the HPA action. If the person was released to probation, obtain the Judiciary judgment and contact First Circuit Adult Client Services.

UIPA allows the agency to redact protected portions while releasing reasonably separable public material. Ask for electronic delivery and a fee estimate. Keep the VINELink screenshot or notes with the request date so the agency can reconcile the public clue with its file.

Manage Honolulu Release Alerts

Use more than one notification method when the event is important. The official brochure permits multiple phone numbers and email addresses and advises users to keep contact details current. Telephone registration requires a PIN so the service can confirm that the alert was received.

A release, discharge, escape, or transfer alert may require a different response. Read the full message. If it names a new location, check that custodian. If it announces release without a destination, verify through DCR and the court before relying on the timing. For parole, contact HPA about the releasable action.

Registration is described as anonymous and confidential to the offender. The service is designed for status notice, not direct contact with the person. Keep personal alert details secure and remove registrations that are no longer needed.

Honolulu VINELink Facility Scope

OCCC is the main Oʻahu jail, but it is not the only relevant DCR facility. WCCC holds both pretrial and sentenced women. Hālawa and Waiawa are state prisons, and Laumaka supports pre-release programming. A result must be read in that facility context.

Movement among those locations can be a transfer. Parole is supervised release, while discharge ends the stated custody or supervision status. Ask DCR for the movement history when the live result does not explain the change.

For FDC Honolulu, use BOP and the federal court. For immigration custody, use ICE. VINELink’s Hawaiʻi state selection should not be presented as covering those systems.

Save Honolulu Alert Details

Write down the exact message, event type, date, time, and reporting agency. A notification may later be replaced by a newer status in the live system. These notes help DCR locate the matching movement entry.

Do not publish personal contact settings or a real person’s identifying result without a valid reason. The generic search and notification screens are enough to document how the system works.
